BJP Gives National Team Representation To 10 Women, Six Minority Community Leaders
BJP Expands Representation In National Team
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced its new national team under party president Nitin Nabin, with 10 women and six leaders from minority communities among the newly appointed office-bearers. The party said the appointments were designed to provide broad representation across the country, with leaders from 23 states and Union territories included in the new organisational structure. The BJP described the team as a combination of administrative and organisational experience, younger leadership, geographical diversity and social representation.
The appointments come after Nabin took charge as the party’s national president and mark a significant restructuring of the BJP’s national organisation. Former Union minister Smriti Irani has been appointed as a national general secretary, returning to a prominent organisational role within the party. Irani is among the 10 women included in the new national office-bearer team and is the only woman among the party’s eight national general secretaries. Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has been appointed national vice-president.
Former Union minister D Purandeshwari and former National Commission for Women chief Rekha Verma have also been named vice-presidents. Their appointments give the new team representation from different regions and reflect the BJP’s emphasis on experienced leadership. The party has also appointed Kavita Patidar and Sangeeta Yadav as national secretaries. Roop Kumari Choudhary has been named president of the BJP’s Mahila Morcha, the party’s women’s wing, while Priti Gandhi has been appointed social media co-convenor.

According to the BJP, the new appointments seek to accommodate voices from a wide geographical and social spectrum. The party said leaders from 23 states and Union territories have been represented in the new national structure, which it presented as an effort to combine regional diversity with organisational requirements. The inclusion of six leaders from minority communities is another feature highlighted in the composition of the new team.
The BJP has traditionally emphasised social engineering and representation across caste, community and regional groups as part of its organisational strategy, particularly as it seeks to expand its political base across different sections of the electorate. The new appointments also include several leaders with previous experience in state and national politics. The combination of senior figures and relatively younger office-bearers is intended to strengthen the party organisation while maintaining continuity with its existing leadership structure.
Nabin, who became BJP national president earlier this year, will now lead the party with the newly constituted national team. The organisational reshuffle is expected to shape the BJP’s functioning at the national level and its coordination with state units in the coming period. The BJP’s announcement comes as the party continues to prepare its organisation for upcoming political challenges. By highlighting the participation of women, minority communities and representatives from multiple states and Union territories, the party has presented the new team as one aimed at broad-based representation and organisational expansion.
