BJP Demands Rahul Gandhi’s Apology Over Abuse at Congress Yatra

Offensive remarks about PM Modi’s mother at Bihar Congress yatra.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding an apology after abusive remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother were made from the stage of the Congress-led ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Darbhanga, Bihar.

A viral video captured an unidentified individual from the crowd using the stage microphone to hurl derogatory comments, despite Rahul Gandhi’s absence from the event, which featured posters of him, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. The BJP condemned the incident as crossing “all limits of insult, hatred, and vulgarity,” escalating political tensions in Bihar.

The BJP’s official X post, written in Hindi, accused the yatra of stooping to unprecedented lows, alleging that Gandhi and Yadav invited leaders like Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, who had previously “insulted” Bihar’s people.

The party claimed the abusive remarks reflect the opposition’s desperation, asserting that even “a thousand apologies” from Gandhi and Yadav would not suffice for Bihar’s public. Senior BJP leader Vishwas Kailash Sarang, speaking to ANI in Bhopal, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing PM Modi’s global respect and insisting that Gandhi personally apologize for the “indecent” conduct at the event.

The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi, aims to highlight alleged collusion between the BJP and the Election Commission to undermine elections. Neither Gandhi, Yadav, nor their respective parties, Congress and RJD, have issued immediate responses to the controversy.

As the incident fuels a heated political row, the BJP’s call for accountability underscores the deepening divide between the ruling party and the opposition, with the viral video amplifying public scrutiny of the yatra’s conduct.
