BJP Alleges Mamata Banerjee Denies Jobs And Opportunities To Minority Community
BJP accuses Mamata Banerjee of exploiting West Bengal’s Muslim community and denying them jobs.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday sharply criticised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her government of exploiting the state’s minority community and depriving them of jobs and opportunities. In a strongly worded statement, the party labelled her actions “treasonous,” alleging that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has deliberately fostered dependence among the Muslim community to maintain political control.
According to the BJP, Banerjee’s policies represent a “politics of appeasement” that does not empower minorities but instead “weaponises insecurity” to undermine national integration. The party claimed that, for over a decade, the CM has “manufactured a sense of perpetual victimhood” among Muslims, using them as a “captive private militia” to disrupt the state and retain her grip on power.
The statement highlighted that West Bengal’s Muslim population continues to face poor living conditions, limited educational and financial opportunities, and restricted access to employment. BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya has reportedly documented what the party described as a “grim, undeniable reality” of marginalisation under the TMC government. The BJP further claimed that many Muslim youths are forced into migrant labour and a disproportionately high number are incarcerated, underscoring their alleged social and economic deprivation.

“The Trinamool Congress has shamelessly exploited the Muslim community, treating them like a disposable vote bank. They have been intentionally starved of opportunities and kept impoverished to ensure their absolute, desperate dependence on the ruling syndicate,” the statement said. The BJP accused the government of offering only “fabricated protection from the BJP” instead of providing basic human dignity, education, or jobs.
The party positioned itself as a defender against what it termed a “treacherous, anti-West Bengal agenda,” promising to oppose the CM’s policies vigorously. “We will not allow the systematic annihilation of our beloved West Bengal, and we will fight to our last breath to establish a glorious, secure and prosperous Bengal,” the statement added.
The remarks come amid rising political tensions in the state as the BJP intensifies its criticism of the TMC ahead of upcoming elections, highlighting issues of minority welfare, governance, and socio-economic development as key points of contention.
