#BiharRally: Campaigning Ends Today; PM Modi to Address BJP Women Workers

Campaigning ends for Bihar’s first poll phase; PM Modi to interact with NDA women workers today.

As the final day of campaigning for the first phase of Bihar's 2025 Assembly elections unfolds on November 4, political heavyweights from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Mahagathbandhan are intensifying their outreach, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to interact with women workers under the BJP's 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot' initiative at 3:30 p.m.

The event, part of a broader 'Mahila Samvad' dialogue, aims to bolster grassroots support among the state's 3.5 crore women voters, who form nearly 47% of the 7.42 crore electorate finalised after a special intensive revision by the Election Commission of India (ECI). With polling for 121 constituencies across 18 districts set for November 6, leaders are making last-ditch promises and appeals, while enforcement agencies report seizures exceeding Rs 100 crore in illicit cash, drugs, liquor, and freebies since the model code of conduct was enforced.

The NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and BJP, is deploying a star-studded lineup: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address three rallies in Sheohar, Sitamarhi, and Madhubani; BJP president JP Nadda, two events; and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, four public meetings. Modi's engagement follows his recent rallies in Saharsa and Katihar, where he criticised the opposition as "Jungle Raj" architects and vowed flood prevention ministries, Vande Bharat expansions, and youth jobs to build a "Viksit Bihar".

BJP MP Ravi Kishan echoed this optimism, claiming ground feedback shows Mahagathbandhan heading for defeat, with NDA poised to snatch several RJD seats amid a "strong wave" of development under Modi and Kumar. JD(U) spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan dismissed opposition sops as futile, asserting NDA's majority is assured.

RJD MP Manoj Jha described the campaign as a "people-driven movement", downplaying BJP's Giriraj Singh's barbs at Rahul Gandhi as divisive distractions on "Hindu-Muslim" issues, while noting rising competition within NDA ranks. Tensions simmer over Modi's "katta" (gun) remark against RJD-Congress, slammed by the opposition as fear-mongering, with Congress' Kharge questioning its relevance to Bihar's woes.

Meanwhile, AIMIM released its first 25-candidate list for Seemanchal and Mithilanchal, potentially splitting Muslim votes in key areas. Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya accused Owaisi and the opposition of shielding infiltrators, crediting the NDA for curbing illegal entries.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta's three-day campaign blitz for NDA in over a dozen constituencies adds momentum, following Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's roadshows for Mahagathbandhan. With 14 lakh first-time voters (mostly youth aged 18-29 at 35%) and webcasting at 100% of booths for transparency, the ECI emphasises colour photos on EVMs and mobile deposit facilities. Polling hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., extended for queues.

This high-stakes rematch—NDA's 125 seats vs. Mahagathbandhan's 110 in 2020—hinges on women, youth, and rural turnout, with results on November 14 potentially reshaping Bihar's $7.5 lakh crore economy amid fiscal strains from sops.
