Bihar Police Constable Saves CISF Jawan By Administering CPR

Constable administers CPR, saves CISF jawan in Bihar.

A Bihar Police traffic constable has been hailed as a “life‑saver” after a video showed him reviving a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan who suddenly collapsed on a busy Patna road by administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The incident, captured on camera and later shared by the Bihar Police, has gone viral, with netizens praising the officer’s quick thinking and training‑backed response in a medical emergency.

The constable, identified as a traffic police personnel on duty near the Mithapur Bypass in Patna, spotted the CISF jawan struggling to breathe and then losing consciousness in the middle of the carriageway. Without waiting for medical staff to arrive, the policeman immediately began chest compressions and continued CPR on the spot until the jawan’s breathing stabilized and he gradually regained consciousness, a process that witnesses described as taking about 30 seconds.

In the widely circulated clip, the constable and another bystander are seen helping the CISF jawan sit up and rubbing his feet to restore circulation, underscoring the role of basic life‑support skills in the critical minutes after a cardiac or respiratory arrest. The Bihar Police later captioned the post with the line “Bihar Police सदैव आपके साथ” (“Bihar Police always with you”), turning the video into a social‑media symbol of public‑service duty and frontline first‑aid capability.

The incident has also sparked renewed calls for CPR training to be made mandatory in schools, workplaces, and public‑safety departments, with many users pointing to the clip as proof that a few minutes of chest compressions can mean the difference between life and death. For Bihar Police, the case has become a high‑visibility success story: a traffic constable, already weighed down by routine duties, using standard training to save a fellow security force member’s life in broad daylight on a crowded city road.
