Bihar NDA Mandate Opens Doors for BJP in West Bengal, Says PM Modi
PM claims Bihar win paves BJP path in West Bengal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on December 20, 2025, that the recent decisive mandate for the NDA in Bihar has significantly strengthened the Bharatiya Janata Party's prospects for victory in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections, describing the development as having "opened up doors" for the party in the state.
Addressing a public rally in Taherpur virtually after dense fog forced his helicopter to return to Kolkata without landing, Modi drew direct parallels between the political shifts in Bihar and the potential transformation in West Bengal, marking his third visit to the state in five months amid escalating tensions over the ongoing Statutory Instrument of Registration exercise.
The Prime Minister accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of fostering a "Maha jungle raj" characterized by widespread corruption, nepotism, and appeasement politics, vowing that the BJP would bring an end to such governance, much as Bihar voters rejected similar conditions by delivering a stronger mandate to the NDA.

Modi emphasized that the nation's demand for rapid development had been reaffirmed in Bihar, where the alliance secured more seats than in previous elections despite longstanding opposition narratives, and positioned the BJP as the force capable of ensuring uninterrupted progress in West Bengal without hindrance from partisan opposition.
Further intensifying his criticism, the Prime Minister alleged that infiltrators receive patronage from the TMC, claiming the party's resistance to the SIR process is aimed at shielding such elements from identification, while urging that political differences should not impede the state's overall advancement and infrastructure development.
