#BiharElectionRally: Amit Shah Claims Huge NDA Lead in Bihar Elections, Rahul Ignored Again

Shah says contest tough but NDA holds huge advantage.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asserted that the upcoming Bihar Assembly election will not be uncontested, but firmly maintained that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) holds a “massive edge” over its rivals. Speaking ahead of the two-phase voting scheduled for November 6 and 11, Shah underlined the strong footing of the ruling alliance while dismissing opposition criticism as politically insignificant. His remarks come at a crucial stage in Bihar’s high-stakes electoral battle, where both alliances are making bold claims about public support and governance priorities.

Shah referred to his earlier target of securing over 160 seats for the NDA in the 243-member Bihar Assembly — a realistic adjustment from more aggressive estimates by other alliance leaders, yet still a confident projection. He emphasized that the political atmosphere in Bihar strongly favours the NDA, citing organisational strength, public welfare initiatives, and leadership credibility as decisive factors. He also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, arguing that such rhetoric no longer influences voters and falls flat in public perception.

Responding to questions about former US President Donald Trump’s controversial claim that he pressured India to halt Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, Shah rebuffed the remarks and urged citizens to focus on national voices rather than foreign narratives. “We are devotees of swadeshi — we listen to leaders of our land,” he said, refusing to give weight to Trump’s repeated assertions about influencing India’s military strategy. Operation Sindoor was launched following the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year and was paused three days later, a decision now under political scrutiny.

Shah was addressing media after a briefing on preparations for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. He announced that a special paramilitary and police parade will be held annually on October 31 at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat, with Prime Minister Modi in attendance. The event will transition into a nationwide cultural festival ‘Bharat Parva’, culminating on November 15 — Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, observed as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. Shah reiterated Patel’s crucial role in unifying the nation and criticized past Congress governments for failing to adequately honour him until PM Modi’s tenure.

Highlighting the government’s continued efforts to promote national unity, Shah announced the expansion of the 'Run for Unity' campaign across schools, colleges, police stations, and districts nationwide. He stated that these initiatives are aimed not only at celebrating India’s heritage but also at strengthening the spirit of national integration across generations. As Bihar gears up for a fiercely contested election, Shah’s confident forecast and sharp attacks on the opposition signal an intensifying battle for control of the politically pivotal state.
