BETRAYAL!! AAP Accuses BJP of Backtracking In Delhi
AAP legislator Kuldeep Kumar, speaking at a press conference, criticized the BJP-led government for its inaction as the March 8 deadline—set by the party itself—looms large.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of deceiving Delhi’s women by backtracking on its election promise to provide a monthly honorarium of Rs 2,500. AAP legislator Kuldeep Kumar, speaking at a press conference, criticized the BJP-led government for its inaction as the March 8 deadline—set by the party itself—looms large.
Kumar, the MLA from Kondli, pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had repeatedly assured voters during election rallies that the financial assistance scheme would be greenlit in the first Cabinet meeting of the new government. “The BJP promised this aid would roll out by International Women’s Day, but no steps have been taken. Instead of delivering, they’ve spent the assembly session attacking Arvind Kejriwal,” Kumar said, branding it a betrayal of Delhi’s women.
The AAP leader also took aim at Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, claiming she was poised to shatter Modi’s commitment. “The timeline of March 8 wasn’t our idea—it came straight from the PM and the BJP. Now, their own government is letting it slip,” he added.
The honorarium promise was a key plank in the BJP’s campaign during the Delhi Assembly elections, where it outbid AAP’s Rs 2,100 offer to woo female voters. The strategy paid off, with the BJP clinching 48 of 70 seats, while AAP was reduced to 22 and Congress drew a blank.
With less than a week to go, AAP has demanded clarity from the BJP on when the funds will reach women’s accounts. “Delhi’s women are waiting for Rs 2,500. The BJP owes them an answer!"
