Assam Chief Minister Shares Personal Gesture, Gifts Watch During Campaign

During the ongoing Jana Ashirwad Yatra in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a personal moment with a young supporter that has gone viral on social media. The Yatra, which launched from Dhekiajuli, is set to cover over 400 km and visit multiple key assembly constituencies across the state. The campaign focuses on connecting with local residents and addressing constituency-level concerns.
In a notable incident, Sarma was atop a flower-decked campaign vehicle, draped in traditional Assamese gamosas, when a young man in the crowd expressed admiration for the chief minister's wristwatch. Observing the enthusiasm, Sarma paused, unclasped the watch, and handed it over to the youth. The gesture drew laughter and applause from the onlookers.
The chief minister remarked to his team that since the boy liked the watch, he was happy to give it to him. Videos of the interaction quickly spread on social media, highlighting a lighter, personal side of the political campaign. The incident underscores the informal and approachable image Sarma has cultivated during the Yatra.
