Anand Mohan Targets JD(U) Leadership, Alleges Internal Money-Based Politics
Anand Mohan accused JD(U) leadership of money-driven politics and targeted Nitish Kumar’s inner circle.
Former MP Anand Mohan has launched a sharp attack on the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) leadership, alleging that the party has drifted away from its ideological foundations and is now influenced by what he described as “money-bag politics.” His remarks come amid ongoing political discussions in Bihar over party organisation and internal leadership dynamics within the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) state coalition.
Speaking to reporters, Anand Mohan directed his criticism at former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s inner circle, claiming that key advisers were isolating the party leader and diminishing his public visibility. He alleged that despite Nitish Kumar’s central role in building the JD(U), his presence in party messaging and public platforms had significantly reduced in recent times.
The former MP also referred to his own past association with Nitish Kumar, stating that he had resigned from a ministerial position at the Chief Minister’s request, but felt sidelined despite what he described as years of loyalty. He further questioned changes in the party’s public representation, pointing out the absence of several senior leaders from posters and campaign materials across Bihar.

Anand Mohan accused certain party functionaries of exercising disproportionate influence within the JD(U), claiming that decisions regarding leadership roles and cabinet positions were being shaped by financial considerations rather than merit or political commitment. He also alleged dissatisfaction among sections of backward communities, suggesting that political engagement patterns had shifted in recent times.
While clarifying that he did not blame the Bharatiya Janata Party, Anand Mohan reserved his strongest criticism for Nitish Kumar’s close aides, whom he accused of weakening the Chief Minister’s position within the party. He described internal decision-making as increasingly opaque and warned that such developments could affect both JD(U) and the broader NDA alliance in Bihar politics.
