Amit Shah Attacks Trinamool Congress Over Corruption Allegations In Bengal Rally
Amit Shah attacks Trinamool Congress over corruption and claims public support for change in Bengal.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging widespread corruption under its rule and claiming that public anger in West Bengal signals a strong desire for political change ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a public rally in Bolpur in Birbhum district, Shah said that corruption in the state spans multiple sectors, including recruitment scams, cattle smuggling, coal smuggling, public distribution system irregularities, and alleged illegal land dealings. He alleged that TMC leaders were linked to various corruption cases and said the people of West Bengal were “frustrated” with the current administration.
Shah asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), if voted to power in the state, would implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in West Bengal. He argued that the proposed reform would replace what he described as inconsistent personal laws, framing it as part of the party’s broader national policy agenda.

The Union Home Minister also targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over women’s safety in the state, alleging that the government had failed to ensure adequate protection for women. He claimed that under a BJP government, women would be able to move freely at any hour without fear, citing past incidents in the state as examples of law-and-order concerns.
Shah further warned of strict action against individuals he described as anti-social elements if they attempted to disrupt the electoral process during polling phases. He said law enforcement would act firmly against any attempts to influence or interfere with voting in the upcoming election schedule.
Concluding his remarks, Shah said that the large turnout at the Bolpur rally reflected growing public support for the BJP and indicated that the Trinamool Congress was losing ground in the state. The remarks come as campaigning intensifies in West Bengal, where political competition between the ruling TMC and the BJP is expected to be closely contested.
