Amit Shah Accuses Rahul Gandhi of 'Lie Loudly, Repeat' Policy at BJP Puducherry Rally
Amit Shah claims Rahul Gandhi misleads on trade deals, alleges daily lies in attack at Karaikal rally.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) public rally in Karaikal, accusing him of habitually spreading falsehoods. Shah alleged that Gandhi has established a "new tradition of telling lies daily" and described it as his core policy.
Addressing a well-attended gathering ahead of upcoming assembly elections in the Union Territory, Shah specifically targeted Gandhi's criticisms of recent free trade agreements (FTAs), including the Indo-US deal. He claimed that the interests of farmers, fishermen, and livestock rearers have been "fully protected" under these pacts, countering Gandhi's assertions that they harm these communities. "It's Rahul Gandhi's policy to lie, lie loudly, repeat it. But people have identified your lie manufacturing factory," Shah said, as quoted by PTI and reported across multiple outlets.
The remarks came on the anniversary of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, where Shah paid tribute to the 40 CRPF personnel killed and contrasted the Modi government's decisive response—including airstrikes—with what he termed the weaker approach of previous UPA regimes led by Congress. He highlighted achievements of the "double-engine government" under Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy in Puducherry, focusing on development, youth opportunities in IT, and overall progress in the region. Shah also predicted a strong BJP-led NDA victory in the 2029 general elections.

The rally served dual purposes: showcasing the NDA's governance record in Puducherry and critiquing the opposition INDIA bloc, including Congress. Shah emphasized that under the current regime, decisions for Puducherry are no longer dictated from Delhi by the "Gandhi family," but are made locally with central support. The event saw massive security arrangements, with hundreds of police personnel deployed, reflecting its significance in the poll-bound territory.
This verbal salvo fits into the ongoing national political discourse, where BJP leaders frequently accuse Gandhi of misinformation on key issues like trade, agriculture, and economic policies. Shah's comments have amplified calls for voters to reject what he portrayed as opposition "lies" in favor of BJP's development agenda, setting the tone for intensified campaigning in Puducherry and beyond.
