Akhilesh Yadav Calls Yogi Adityanath ‘Infiltrator,’ Demands Return to Uttarakhand

Akhilesh brands Yogi an infiltrator, demands his return to Uttarakhand.

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav unleashed a provocative attack on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, labeling him an “infiltrator” from Uttarakhand and demanding his immediate return to his home state. Speaking at Lucknow’s Lohia Park on October 12, 2025, during the death anniversary of socialist icon Ram Manohar Lohia, Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of peddling “fake statistics” and shielding a regime riddled with corruption, casteism, and injustice, igniting a fresh war of words that could reshape UP’s electoral battleground.

Yadav seized the moment to challenge the BJP’s narrative, scoffing at their data on issues like migration. “If one is to believe their statistics, they would be lost,” he told reporters, before dropping his bombshell: “We also have infiltrators in UP. The chief minister is from Uttarakhand. We want him to be sent to Uttarakhand. He is not the only infiltrator; he is also an infiltrator from the ideological point of view.” Referencing Adityanath’s pre-BJP roots in the Hindu Mahasabha, Yadav added, “He was not a member of the BJP; he was a member of another party. So, when will these infiltrators be removed?” The remarks directly counter recent comments by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who on Friday accused opposition parties of treating infiltrators as vote banks while speaking on “Infiltration, demographic change, and democracy.”

The setting—Lohia Park, a monument to social justice built under SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav—amplified Yadav’s pledge to carry forward Lohia’s fight against inequality. “Today, we take a pledge to reach out to the people on the issues he raised, to ensure economic and social dignity for everyone,” he declared, emphasizing Lohia’s call to dismantle the caste system. Yadav rallied his PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) coalition, accusing the BJP of systemic casteism, noting, “In several districts, there are no PDA officers. Only people from a particular caste are being posted.”

Yadav pointed to the recent Raebareli mob lynching of a Valmiki community youth as evidence of surging atrocities against Dalits under Adityanath’s rule. “NCRB data clearly shows the maximum atrocities against Dalits have taken place under this government,” he said, dismissing the BJP’s “zero tolerance” claims as hollow. He accused the police of filing false cases against political opponents while failing to protect women or curb crime. “The chief minister tells black lies while sitting at a white table,” Yadav quipped, alleging corruption permeates every department and that the government shields criminals.

Hitting out at the BJP’s Swadeshi rhetoric, Yadav called it a facade, pointing to continued trade with China and violence against farmers denied fertilizers. “BJP leaders talk about Swadeshi, but their hearts are with foreign interests,” he charged, alleging electoral funding drives profiteering. He also referenced the suicide of Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, linking it to caste-based politics, and decried incidents like shoes thrown at the Supreme Court and attacks on religious figures. “The government is only busy with political work and does not understand the people’s pain,” he said.

As UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak promised a swift response, Yadav’s “deport Yogi” demand has set social media ablaze, with #SendYogiBack trending across X. Political analysts see this as a calculated move to energize SP’s base ahead of future polls while exploiting Adityanath’s outsider status to challenge BJP’s dominance. With UP’s 80 Lok Sabha seats crucial to national politics, this feud could have far-reaching consequences, galvanizing both sides in a state where caste, identity, and governance remain volatile flashpoints. Yadav’s vow to build a PDA-led government signals a fierce fight ahead, rooted in Lohia’s vision but fueled by modern political brinkmanship.
