AAP Leaders Mark Holi At Sisodia’s Residence, Criticise BJP’s Alcohol Policy
Kejriwal and AAP leaders celebrate Holi, promoting honesty, and criticise BJP over opening liquor shops during festivities.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal celebrated Holi on Wednesday at the residence of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, along with senior party leaders and workers. The festivities were marked by music, colors, and a lively gathering of supporters, emphasizing a theme of honesty and integrity.
Addressing the media, Kejriwal extended greetings to the nation, wishing that the festival of colors brings happiness and joy to every household. He also referenced recent legal developments, asserting that the courts had reaffirmed AAP’s commitment to transparency and integrity, and that the party’s leadership remains staunchly honest despite previous allegations.
Criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kejriwal highlighted the reopening of liquor shops in Delhi during Holi, calling it “very unfortunate.” He noted that liquor shops had traditionally remained closed during the festival to prevent public disturbances, and he expressed disapproval of the government’s decision to allow alcohol sales on this occasion.

Sisodia described the celebrations as a “Kattar Imaandar Holi” (staunchly honest Holi), reinforcing the party’s stance on integrity. He said that despite repeated attempts to defame the party, no allegations against AAP leaders had been proven, and the festival this year was dedicated to honesty. He also criticized BJP for associating Holi with alcohol, stressing that the festival traditionally symbolizes colors, brotherhood, and harmony.
Among the attendees were AAP MLA and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, and numerous party workers. The gathering was lively, with participants exchanging gulal, dancing to drum beats, and joining the leaders in extending Holi greetings to people across the country.
The celebration underscored AAP’s efforts to highlight ethical leadership and reinforce its image of honesty in governance, while contrasting its approach to the festival with the state government’s policies on alcohol regulation.
