2025: A Year of National Pride and Global Impact, Says PM Modi during ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Address

PM Modi highlights India's 2025 achievements in security, sports, space, and culture during final Mann Ki Baat address.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reflected on 2025 as a year of historic achievements and global recognition for India during his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address. Highlighting key milestones, Modi said the nation’s impact was visible across multiple spheres, from national security and sports to science and cultural heritage.

Modi emphasized the significance of Operation Sindoor, carried out on May 7, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack in April that claimed 26 lives. “Operation Sindoor became a symbol of pride for every Indian. The world witnessed clearly that today’s India does not compromise on its security,” he said. The military confrontation between India and Pakistan concluded peacefully on May 10 after both sides reached an understanding.

The prime minister also celebrated India’s cultural achievements, citing the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ and the enthusiastic participation of citizens in the hashtag campaign #VandeMataram150. He pointed to the Prayagraj Mahakumbh held early in the year and the ‘Dhwajarohan’ ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as moments that united faith, culture, and heritage, filling Indians with pride.

Sports achievements were another highlight of Modi’s address. He noted that the men’s cricket team won the ICC Champions Trophy, while the women’s cricket team claimed their first World Cup. Additionally, Indian para-athletes earned numerous medals at the World Championships, and the women’s blind cricket team triumphed in the T20 World Cup. India also secured a dominant victory in the Asia Cup T20, showcasing the country’s growing prowess on international sports platforms.

In science and technology, Modi pointed out India’s remarkable progress, with Shubhanshu Shukla becoming the first Indian to reach the International Space Station. He highlighted the growing global admiration for India’s Youth Power, innovation, and technology expansion. Environmental efforts were also praised, with the cheetah population in India exceeding 30 in 2025.

The prime minister concluded by acknowledging the challenges faced by the country due to natural disasters but expressed optimism for the year ahead. He noted the rising enthusiasm for swadeshi products and said, “2025 has given India even greater confidence. As we move into 2026, the nation is ready with new hopes, resolutions, and determination to achieve even more.”
