UP Teen Builds AI Teacher Robot ‘Sophie’, Wows Internet With Viral Classroom Demo
Teenager creates talking AI robot Sophie that teaches in classroom.
In a remarkable display of ingenuity, 17-year-old Aditya Kumar, a Class 12 student from Shiv Charan Inter College in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, has developed a fully functional AI-powered teacher robot named Sophie, catapulting him to nationwide attention after a classroom demonstration video went viral across social media platforms.
The AI robot, constructed using an advanced Large Language Model chipset typically employed by leading global technology companies, introduced itself confidently before a room full of astonished students and teachers. Speaking fluently in Hindi, Sophie declared, “I am an AI teacher robot. My name is Sophie, and I was invented by Aditya,” before inviting the class to ask questions, instantly transforming the ordinary classroom into a glimpse of futuristic education.
Aditya rigorously tested Sophie’s capabilities in real time. When asked about India’s first President and Prime Minister, the robot accurately named Dr Rajendra Prasad and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru respectively. It effortlessly solved a basic arithmetic question, correctly stating that 100 plus 92 equals 192. On being questioned about the nature of electricity, Sophie delivered a precise scientific explanation, describing it as energy generated by the movement of charged particles, and proactively offered to elaborate further if required.
