Trump Says Iran Must Sign Deal “Fast” Or Face More Strikes

Trump warns Iran of more strikes if deal delayed

US President Donald Trump has warned that American forces could escalate military action against Iran if a deal is not signed “fast,” following reported strikes and a brief exchange of fire involving US naval assets in the region. The statement marks an intensification of rhetoric amid already heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said US forces had inflicted “great damage” on Iranian targets after what he described as an attack involving drones on three American naval destroyers. He claimed the vessels were not damaged, but said the responding strikes caused significant losses to the Iranian side.Trump characterised the encounter in dramatic terms, stating that incoming drones were neutralised and “fell like a butterfly dropping to its grave.” He did not provide specific operational details or independent verification of the incidents described in his post.

Despite the aggressive tone, the US President also suggested that diplomatic engagement remains possible. He reiterated that Washington is still open to reaching an agreement with Tehran, even as military pressure increases. However, he tied any potential diplomatic progress to swift Iranian compliance with US demands.“We’ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don’t get their deal signed, FAST,” Trump warned, signalling the possibility of further military escalation if negotiations do not advance quickly.

The comments come at a sensitive time, with ongoing discussions reportedly aimed at de-escalating tensions and addressing disputes over Iran’s nuclear programme. The situation has been complicated by recent military activity and conflicting claims from both sides regarding strikes and ceasefire understandings.Iranian authorities have not independently confirmed the incidents referenced in Trump’s statement. Meanwhile, international observers continue to closely monitor developments, as fears grow that rhetoric and military actions could further destabilise the region and disrupt already fragile diplomatic efforts.
