Tamil Nadu Horror: Drunken Trio Attacks Worker With Iron Rod

A chilling video from Vriddhachalam in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore district has sparked outrage after capturing three drunken men brutally assaulting a man with an iron rod. The footage, which has gone viral, shows the victim covered in blood, pleading for his life as his attackers relentlessly pursue him. The man, a construction worker, is seen desperately trying to escape, with one assailant grabbing his shirt before he manages to flee.
The Cuddalore district police acted swiftly, opening fire to subdue the attackers, who were arrested after a violent rampage that left six people injured, including two police officers. The assailants, identified as loadmen from Chennai’s Koyambedu vegetable market, allegedly attacked a bus driver and two shopkeepers during their drunken spree. According to police, the trio has a history of drunken brawls and faces pending charges from previous incidents.
A senior police officer told NDTV, “When we attempted to apprehend them, they attacked our personnel with liquor bottles, forcing us to fire at their legs to neutralize two of them. The third was apprehended this morning.” The officer confirmed that an investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the incident and any underlying motives.

The viral video shows the construction worker’s head, face, and body drenched in blood, with blood splattered on the ground behind him, highlighting the ferocity of the attack. Despite the severity of the assault, all six victims, including the injured police officers, are reported to be out of danger and receiving medical treatment.
Cuddalore Superintendent of Police S Jeyakumar visited the victims and assured the public of strict action against the perpetrators. “Such violent behavior will not be tolerated, and we are committed to ensuring justice,” he stated. The incident has raised concerns about public safety and the recurring issue of alcohol-fueled violence in the region.
As the investigation continues, authorities are examining the circumstances that led to the attack and whether the assailants had any prior disputes with the victims. The shocking video has prompted widespread calls for stricter measures to curb such violent outbursts, with locals demanding accountability and enhanced police presence in vulnerable areas.
