Pradhan Breaks Silence On CJP Protest, Targets Rahul Gandhi Over Student Issues

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday reacted to protests linked to alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his party of using student concerns for political purposes. Pradhan said the government owed students more than expressions of outrage and was committed to providing answers, reforms and accountability. In a post on X, Pradhan said that students deserved concrete action rather than political statements. "We owe them answers, reforms and accountability.

That is exactly what our government remains committed to delivering," he wrote. His remarks came amid growing protests over allegations of a NEET paper leak and the police action against students participating in demonstrations. Pradhan alleged that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress were attempting to use students as "political tools" to create disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. He accused the opposition party of choosing political confrontation instead of engaging in discussions on the concerns raised by students.

The Education Minister also argued that the government had already shown willingness to address the matter through dialogue. According to Pradhan, authorities remained open to discussions and were focused on ensuring transparency and accountability in the examination system. He claimed that Congress had chosen what he described as "political spectacle over democratic debate." The controversy surrounding NEET has triggered widespread concern among students, parents and political parties.
