Model-Actor Twisha Sharma's Body Handed Over to Family After Second Autopsy

Model-turned-actor Twisha Sharma's body was handed over to family following a court-approved second autopsy.

Nearly two weeks after the death of model-turned-actor Twisha Sharma, her body was handed over to her family on Sunday following a second post-mortem examination conducted at AIIMS Bhopal. Visuals from the hospital showed the body being brought out and placed in a hearse van before being taken for the final rites. Her cremation is expected to take place later in the day.

Twisha Sharma’s family had refused to receive the body until a second autopsy was conducted. The family had raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding her death and sought a more detailed medical examination. Following their request and approval from the court, a second post-mortem was carried out by a team of doctors from AIIMS Delhi nearly 12 days after her death on May 12.

The actor, who hailed from Noida, was found hanging at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal. Her family has alleged that she was subjected to continuous mental harassment related to dowry demands. These allegations have become the central focus of the ongoing police investigation into the case.

Family members also reportedly appealed to the people of Bhopal to participate in Sharma’s funeral procession. The case has drawn widespread attention on social media, with several users demanding justice and a transparent probe into the allegations raised by the family. Authorities have not yet disclosed the findings of the second autopsy.

The incident has once again brought attention to cases of alleged dowry harassment and domestic abuse in India. Police officials are continuing their investigation while awaiting the detailed autopsy report and other forensic findings. Further legal action is expected based on the outcome of the inquiry and medical examination reports.
