Jammu and Kashmir Police executed a precision search operation on Saturday in Pulwama district, unearthing a significant quantity of incriminating material designed to fuel separatist sentiment, including high-quality posters of the outlawed Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party and multiple volumes of banned literature known for promoting violence and anti-national ideology.
The operation was launched under a specific warrant issued by the designated NIA Court in Pulwama in connection with a case registered under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, reflecting the seriousness with which authorities are treating any attempt to revive or sustain separatist propaganda in the Valley nearly six years after the abrogation of Article 370.
The target was a commercial shop owned by Mohamed Amir Rather, a resident of Litter area in Pulwama town. The entire search was conducted in the presence of an executive magistrate, independent witnesses, and videography to ensure absolute transparency and strict compliance with legal protocols, leaving no room for procedural challenges at a later stage.

Recovered items included professionally printed posters bearing the emblem and imagery of the JKDFP, an organisation headed by the long-incarcerated separatist leader Shabir Shah, alongside books and pamphlets that have been officially proscribed for containing content that incites disaffection against the Indian state and glorifies armed struggle.
All seized materials have been formally documented and taken into evidence for detailed forensic analysis and cross-referencing with existing intelligence databases, while investigators widen their probe to identify potential distribution networks, funding sources, and individuals still engaged in disseminating such prohibited propaganda in south Kashmir and beyond.
