Imran Khan's Son Demands Global Intervention Over Jail Healthcare Concerns
Imran Khan's son alleges denial of healthcare, contact in jail.
Imran Khan's son has appealed to the international community to intervene, alleging that the jailed former Pakistan prime minister has been denied adequate healthcare and contact with his family during his incarceration. The appeal comes as Khan remains lodged in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where his family claims they have been unable to communicate with him for several months. The allegations have renewed attention on the conditions of the former premier's imprisonment.
Kasim Khan said the family has not been able to hear Imran Khan's voice since March and claimed they have been denied all forms of contact with him. "We haven't heard his voice since March. For months, we've been denied contact with him," he said, urging international bodies to intervene over what he described as an urgent humanitarian concern. He also alleged that the former prime minister requires immediate medical attention.
Imran Khan, 73, is being held in solitary confinement at Adiala Jail. The former international cricketer-turned-politician was first arrested on August 5, 2023, after an Islamabad trial court found him guilty in the Toshakhana corruption case. Since then, he has been arrested and convicted in multiple other cases, resulting in his continued imprisonment. Khan and his party have consistently maintained that the cases against him are politically motivated, while Pakistan's authorities have denied such allegations.

The Pakistan government imposed a ban on all meetings with Imran Khan in December 2025 after he reportedly described Field Marshal General Asim Munir as a "mentally unstable man" during a meeting with one of his sisters. Since then, restrictions on visits and communication have remained in place, according to the report, further limiting access to the former prime minister.
The latest claims by Khan's family have intensified concerns among his supporters and members of his political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who have repeatedly demanded improved access to the former prime minister and greater transparency regarding his health and detention conditions. However, Pakistani authorities have not publicly responded to the latest allegations made by his son.
Imran Khan remains one of Pakistan's most prominent political figures despite his incarceration, and developments surrounding his legal cases continue to attract domestic and international attention. The allegations regarding his health and prison conditions are likely to add to ongoing scrutiny of his detention as legal proceedings against the former prime minister continue.
