Five arrested after 6 kg ganja seizure near Hyderabad.
Telangana's EAGLE Force, in coordination with Pet Basheerabad Police, arrested five people and seized six kilograms of ganja in Hyderabad on August 17. The operation was carried out as part of an investigation into an alleged ganja supply network operating in the city. Police intercepted an auto-rickshaw near GVK EMRI in Pet Basheerabad and recovered the contraband, which was reportedly concealed inside the vehicle's speaker box.
According to the police, the seized ganja was valued at around Rs 3 lakh. Investigators alleged that the accused had travelled from Hyderabad to Nagpur to procure the contraband from a supplier before returning to the city. The suspected supplier, identified as Shaik Sadiq, is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him as part of the ongoing investigation.
The five arrested persons have been identified as Mohammed Hamid, Mohammed Abbas, Mohammed Mustafa, Irfan Khan and Syed Afroz. Police also seized five mobile phones and the auto-rickshaw allegedly used to transport the contraband.
