Deepinder Goyal Invites Ex-Zomato Staff to Rejoin Eternal, Says Door is Open
Deepinder Goyal urges former Zomato employees to return to Eternal, assuring them the door remains open.
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has publicly invited former employees to return to the company, saying that the “door isn’t closed” and their experience continues to be valued, even if their earlier exit was difficult.
In a post shared on social media platform X on Tuesday, Goyal addressed those who previously worked at Zomato, acknowledging that the company’s work environment and leadership may not have met expectations at the time. However, he said many former employees still remember Zomato as a unique workplace that felt like home.
Goyal candidly admitted past leadership shortcomings and made it clear that there are no grudges or closed doors. He urged former employees who may have hesitated to reconnect, saying he personally wants them back. According to him, people who have been part of the organization, left, grown elsewhere, and now wish to return are best suited to help strengthen the company’s culture.

Highlighting the expanded ecosystem under Zomato’s parent entity Eternal, Goyal said the group now includes multiple businesses such as Blinkit, Blinkit Ambulances, District, Hyperpure, Nugget, and Feeding India. He added that these ventures need experienced individuals who already understand the company’s values and are willing to push for higher standards.
Addressing concerns over his recent decision to step down as Group CEO and Managing Director of Eternal, Goyal said his designation never truly mattered. He clarified that he remains actively involved and is keen to have former colleagues participate in what he described as the “next phase” of Eternal.
Encouraging direct outreach, Goyal invited interested former employees to write to him personally, promising to help them find roles aligned with their current lives and ambitions. He concluded the post on a lighter note, remarking that while Gurgaon’s pollution remains a problem, working at Eternal continues to be the “feature.”
Earlier, in a letter to shareholders, Goyal announced that he would transition to the role of vice chairman as he steps aside to pursue new, higher-risk ideas within the group.
