Banks Closed Four Days This Week From March 17–21: Full State-Wise Holiday List
Banks shut four days this week across multiple Indian states for festivals.
Banks in several parts of India will remain closed on multiple days this week due to regional festivals and religious observances. According to the holiday schedule released by the Reserve Bank of India, bank branches will be shut on March 17, 19, 20, and 21 in different states, which may temporarily affect regular banking operations.
On March 17, banks will remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir to observe Shab‑i‑Qadr. This night is considered one of the most sacred in Islam, and many institutions remain closed in regions where the occasion is widely observed.
On March 19, several states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Manipur, Goa and Andhra Pradesh will observe holidays for regional New Year celebrations such as Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheiraoba, and the first day of Navratri.

On March 20, banks will remain closed in Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, and Andhra Pradesh due to Eid‑ul‑Fitr and Jumat‑ul‑Vida.
On March 21, banks will remain closed across most parts of India for Khutub‑E‑Ramzan. However, branches will remain open in Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. In Jharkhand, banks will be closed on the same day for the tribal festival Sarhul.
Even during these holidays, customers will still be able to use digital banking services such as internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs, and payment systems like UPI, NEFT, and RTGS. These platforms allow users to transfer money, check balances, make payments, and carry out many other banking activities despite physical bank branches being closed.
