Following the attack, security forces have intensified combing operations in and around the border region to apprehend those responsible. Additional deployments have been made, and surveillance has been stepped up to prevent suspects from escaping. The area, which lies close to routes frequently used for cross-border smuggling, remains under heightened alert.

Authorities noted that the operation was part of a broader crackdown aimed at dismantling drug networks operating across Manipur and adjoining areas. The Northeast has long been a vulnerable corridor for narcotics trafficking due to its proximity to international borders and difficult terrain, making enforcement operations both complex and high-risk.

The incident has once again highlighted the dangers faced by law enforcement personnel engaged in anti-narcotics efforts. Officials reiterated their commitment to continuing strict action against drug syndicates while also reviewing safety protocols to better protect personnel during such operations.
