105 Indians Nabbed in Cambodia Cyber Scam Bust

Massive raids uncover global cyber fraud network.

Cambodian authorities arrested over 3,000 individuals, including 105 Indians, in a sweeping crackdown on cybercrime across 138 locations over 15 days. The raids, prompted by a high-level India-Cambodia meeting last month, targeted a major cyber fraud hub.

Among the arrested were 1,028 Chinese, 693 Vietnamese, 366 Indonesians, and others from countries including Bangladesh, Thailand, and Korea, with 606 women detained.

The operation uncovered computers, laptops, mobile phones, drugs, fake Indian and Chinese police uniforms, drug processing equipment, weapons, ammunition, and narcotics like ecstasy powder. The Indian government is coordinating with Cambodian authorities to repatriate its citizens, with the Home Ministry vowing strict action against those involved in cyber fraud.

The raids highlight Cambodia’s role as a base for international cybercrime networks, with ongoing efforts to dismantle such operations.
