10-Year-Old Punjab Boy Honoured With National Award For Helping Soldiers On Border
10-year-old Shravan Singh receives Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for serving soldiers during Operation Sindoor.
Ten-year-old Shravan Singh from Chak Taran Wali village in Punjab’s Ferozepur district was conferred with the Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar 2026 by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The award recognises his exceptional courage, presence of mind, and dedication during Operation Sindoor in May 2025. His actions stood out amid extremely tense conditions along the Indo-Pak border.
During the operation, Shravan played a crucial role in supporting Indian troops deployed at forward posts. Despite his young age, he consistently delivered essential supplies such as water, milk, lassi, tea, and ice to soldiers stationed in difficult terrain. His daily efforts ensured that troops had access to basic necessities during prolonged deployments.
Even under the constant threat of cross-border tensions, Shravan continued his service without hesitation. His determination and sense of responsibility made him a vital support system for soldiers working in challenging and high-risk conditions. Officials noted that his selfless contribution significantly boosted morale among the deployed forces.

Earlier, the Indian Army had formally honoured Shravan for his service and later announced it would bear the full cost of his education. He has since been enrolled in a private school, with the Army providing all essential school supplies, including books, uniform, and daily necessities. This gesture reflects the Army’s commitment to nurturing young citizens who display extraordinary character.
Shravan’s father, Sona Singh, described the recognition as a moment of immense pride for the family. He revealed that Shravan is living with diabetes, a condition now being treated with the Army’s support. He also shared that the Army has assured continued assistance and encouragement, helping Shravan pursue his dream of serving the nation when he grows up. Shravan Singh’s story stands as a powerful reminder that courage and service know no age. His unwavering dedication has earned him national recognition and inspired many across the country.
