Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh Now Runs on Rule of Law Instead of Riots

UP transforms from “fear zone” to “faith zone” under CM Yogi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday stated that the state has undergone a dramatic transformation since 2017, shedding its image of crime and anarchy to emerge as a model of governance defined by “technology, trust and transformation.” Speaking during the Legislative Council debate on the Governor’s Address, he contrasted the present administration with past periods, highlighting the decline of curfews and riots.

CM Yogi accused opposition parties of disrespecting constitutional traditions during the Governor’s speech, asserting that such behavior undermines democratic institutions. He emphasized that the state has replaced “riot culture” with governance rooted in the “rule of law,” declaring that Uttar Pradesh has moved from being a “fear zone” to a “faith zone.”

Citing improved law and order, the Chief Minister noted the participation of over 40 lakh devotees in the Triveni bath during Mahashivratri, alongside the deployment of more than 44,000 women personnel in the police force. He also pointed to modern training centers and barracks as milestones in bolstering the state’s security infrastructure.

On economic growth, Yogi highlighted that Uttar Pradesh now contributes 9.5% to India’s GDP, with per capita income tripling since 2017. He stressed that the state has achieved revenue surplus without introducing new taxes, while industrial growth has accelerated, with the number of factories increasing from 14,000 to over 31,000 and 96 lakh MSME units generating employment opportunities for youth.

The Chief Minister also detailed reforms in agriculture and social welfare, including direct benefit transfers to farmers totaling over Rs 95,000 crore, timely payments to sugarcane farmers, and the establishment of 7,727 cow shelters. He praised the implementation of coherent farm policies and initiatives that have reduced input costs while boosting output.

In healthcare and education, Yogi pointed to expanded medical infrastructure, the One District, One Medical College initiative, and the growth of forensic labs from two to 12 A-grade facilities, with six more under construction. Reaffirming his government’s nationalist stance, he emphasized mandatory respect for the national anthem and song, warning that opposition to “Vande Mataram” would not be tolerated.
