Yogi Adityanath Sets June-End Deadline for Road and Bridge Project Approvals In East UP
CM Yogi Adityanath directs officials to speed up road and bridge projects before monsoon deadline.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to accelerate ongoing road and bridge construction projects in eastern parts of the state, setting a strict June-end deadline for the approval of pending works. The instructions were issued during a review meeting focused on Public Works Department (PWD) projects across the Gorakhpur and Azamgarh divisions.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a “mission-mode” approach to ensure timely completion of infrastructure projects, particularly in view of the approaching monsoon season, which often slows down construction activity. He urged officials to prioritise efficiency and maintain quality standards while pushing for faster execution of all ongoing works.
According to the directions issued, all road and bridge projects awaiting administrative clearance must be processed without delay. The Chief Minister also instructed departments to ensure that foundation-laying ceremonies are conducted promptly after approvals are granted, signalling immediate commencement of work on sanctioned projects.

Adityanath further stressed the importance of proper planning and resource allocation before beginning construction. He asked officials to ensure that materials, manpower, and logistical arrangements are in place in advance so that projects do not face disruptions once work begins on the ground.
The review meeting highlighted the government’s focus on strengthening connectivity and infrastructure development in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Officials were told that delays in project execution would not be tolerated and that accountability would be enforced to ensure deadlines are met effectively.
With the new directives in place, the state administration is expected to intensify monitoring of infrastructure works in the coming weeks, aiming to improve road connectivity and accelerate development across key districts in the region.
