Yogi Adityanath Leads Tiranga Yatra In Gorakhpur Under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led a Tiranga Yatra in Gorakhpur on Monday as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The procession concluded at Railway Station Chowk after participants paid tribute to freedom icons Rani Lakshmibai and Maharana Pratap.

Addressing the gathering, Adityanath emphasised the symbolic importance of the national flag and its connection with India’s freedom struggle. He noted that the Tricolour represents the sacrifices of revolutionaries and freedom fighters and serves as an inspiration for younger generations. He also stressed the importance of preserving the ideals associated with the country’s independence movement.

The Chief Minister also traced the evolution of the Indian national flag during the freedom movement. He referred to the Swadeshi movement of 1905 and the later use of the Charkha as a symbol associated with the freedom struggle. Following Independence, the Dharma Chakra was placed at the centre of the Tricolour, representing the collective spirit of the nation.

The Tiranga Yatra drew participation from people across Gorakhpur, with residents carrying the national flag during the procession. Participants described the event as an opportunity to join the annual campaign and celebrate the Tricolour. The campaign encourages citizens to display the national flag at their homes and participate in activities connected with national pride.

Later, Adityanath shared a message on X describing the Tricolour as a symbol of India’s honour, prestige and glory. He urged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes and upload selfies with the Tricolour on the official ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign website. The campaign is being organised this year under the theme ‘Vande Mataram’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also urged citizens on Sunday to participate actively in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. In a social media post, he described the Tricolour as a source of pride and motivation and encouraged people to renew their commitment to contributing towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’. The campaign is part of nationwide efforts encouraging public participation around the national flag and the country’s Independence Day.
