Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated India’s first private AI-augmented multidisciplinary university, Chandigarh University, in Unnao, hailing it as a pivotal step toward building a modern, self-reliant India. Located on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway, the 63-acre campus, developed at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore, aims to revolutionize education by integrating artificial intelligence across 43 undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, business, health, humanities, liberal arts, and legal studies.
Adityanath emphasized that the university aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and the National Education Policy, blending India’s ancient knowledge systems with cutting-edge technology to foster research, innovation, and holistic growth.
The CM highlighted the university’s role in addressing educational challenges, such as institutions operating in isolation, by fostering industry-academia collaboration and career guidance. He urged students to pursue disciplined, value-driven education to contribute to a strong India, noting that the state’s safe and law-abiding environment over the past eight years has attracted significant investments, including this campus.
