Woman Faces Complaint After Confronting Minister Over BJP Rally Traffic Jam
Complaint filed against woman over minister confrontation during BJP rally.
A complaint has been filed at the Worli police station against a woman who confronted Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan during a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally held in the area earlier this week. The incident took place amid heavy traffic congestion caused by road closures for the political event, according to police and PTI reports. Authorities said the complaint was lodged on Wednesday.
The BJP rally was organised on Tuesday in Mumbai’s Worli area to criticise opposition parties following the defeat of a Constitution Amendment Bill related to 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The gathering led to significant traffic disruption in the upscale locality, affecting daily commuters and residents in the surrounding areas.
During the rally, the woman allegedly confronted Minister Girish Mahajan while he was interacting with reporters. She reportedly questioned the decision to hold the event on public roads and asked why it was not organised at an open ground to avoid inconvenience. The exchange took place in a tense public setting as traffic congestion worsened.

The complaint against her was filed by Zen Sadavarte at the Worli police station. It alleges that the woman used abusive language, disturbed the rally proceedings, obstructed public activity, and caused inconvenience to citizens. The complaint has sought legal action under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including obstruction of public servants and public mischief.
Police officials said the complaint is being examined and necessary action will be taken after verification of facts. Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte’s daughter, Zen Sadavarte, stated that such behaviour amounts to disrespect toward public representatives and constitutional processes. Meanwhile, a separate case has also been registered against the rally organisers for alleged violations of public event and traffic regulations.
