The mishap occurred around 5 p.m. at the Mahindra Shiva dealership, according to police reports. Maani, her husband Pradeep, and a showroom salesman were inside the Thar Roxx when the vehicle suddenly accelerated, plunging off the elevated showroom floor. The SUV landed upside down, drawing a crowd of passersby who recorded the scene, fueling its rapid spread across social media platforms.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Abhishek Dhania confirmed that a medico-legal case was filed at 6:08 p.m. after the incident. “Maani Pawar and her husband, residents of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, had just purchased the Thar Roxx from the Mahindra showroom in Nirman Vihar,” he told NDTV. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The occupants were rushed to Malik Hospital, treated with first aid, and discharged.
