West Bengal Voters Can Still Fix Missing Names in SIR Draft Electoral Roll

The Election Commission of India has published the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Draft Electoral Roll for West Bengal, allowing voters to verify their details ahead of finalisation. Citizens whose names are missing from the draft can apply for inclusion by submitting Form 6, a standard application for new voter registration or corrections. The process aims to ensure comprehensive and accurate voter lists before upcoming elections.

To address omissions, voters must fill out Form 6 and attach Annexure-IV, a declaration confirming residency and eligibility. Submissions can be made in person to the designated Booth Level Officer (BLO) at local polling stations or through Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). Alternatively, applications can be completed online via the Election Commission's voter portal or the Voter Helpline app for convenience.

The SIR, qualifying voters aged 18 and above as of January 1, 2026, emphasises inclusivity, particularly for first-time voters and those previously unregistered. Authorities encourage prompt action during the claims and objections period to avoid disenfranchisement.

Verification of the draft roll is available online at the Chief Electoral Officer's website for West Bengal or through BLO visits. Supporting documents like proof of age, residence, and identity may be required alongside the forms.
