VP Reveals Netaji's Secret Vision for India's Future at Odisha Tribute

Vice President Radhakrishnan honors Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's vision at Parakram Diwas event in Cuttack.

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the Parakram Diwas celebrations held at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthplace Museum in Cuttack, Odisha, marking the freedom fighter’s 129th birth anniversary. Addressing the gathering, he described Netaji as a visionary leader whose contributions extended beyond India’s struggle for independence, emphasizing his blueprint for a strong, self-reliant, and poverty-free nation.

Recalling the iconic INA marching song, “Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja”, the Vice President highlighted Netaji’s ideals of courage, unity, and unwavering dedication to the motherland. He urged citizens to imbibe this spirit of parakram (valour) to collectively work toward the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, drawing strength from Netaji’s life and principles.

Radhakrishnan also praised Odisha’s historical and cultural significance, noting the state’s efforts in tribal development, infrastructure growth, and good governance. He said Odisha’s resilience and legacy of resistance closely align with Netaji’s revolutionary path, reflecting a land that has preserved its identity and understood that freedom is achieved through courage and unity, not submission.

During the event, a recorded address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was telecast, highlighting the government’s initiatives to honor Netaji, including declaring his birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas since 2021 and renaming Ross Island as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep. The Vice President emphasized that these measures reinforce the spirit of bold national service embodied in Netaji’s life.

The celebrations included the inauguration of the INA Postal Stamp Gallery and the Netaji Sanskruti Bhawan, showcasing exhibitions organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Odisha government. Radhakrishnan commended these efforts, noting that such initiatives educate younger generations about the hardships and sacrifices of freedom fighters.

The Vice President also felicitated freedom fighters, including Mayadhar Mallick and Wing Commander B. S. Singh Deo (Retd.), and honored families of Indian National Army veterans. The event was attended by dignitaries such as Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, CM Mohan Charan Majhi, and Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, reflecting a statewide tribute to Netaji’s enduring legacy.
