Visakhapatnam-Delhi IndiGo Flight With 160 Passengers Lands Safely After Engine Malfunction

IndiGo flight from Visakhapatnam lands safely in Delhi after engine failure; passengers unharmed, investigation underway.

An IndiGo flight from Visakhapatnam to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday after experiencing an engine failure, authorities and sources confirmed. The Boeing 737 aircraft was carrying 160 passengers at the time of the incident.

According to sources, the airline declared a “full emergency” at 10:39 a.m. local time for flight 6E 579 due to the malfunction of one of its engines. Air traffic controllers at Delhi coordinated with emergency response teams to ensure the safe handling of the situation.

The aircraft successfully landed at 10:59 a.m., with all passengers reported to be safe. Flight tracking data from flightradar24.com corroborated the timing of the landing. No injuries have been reported so far.

IndiGo has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident. Airport emergency services were on standby, prepared to respond to any complications, but the landing proceeded without further issues.
