Vice-President Hosts Christmas Luncheon with Church Leaders Before Telangana and MP Tour

Vice-President hosts Christmas luncheon praising Christian contributions before Telangana-MP visit.

Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan hosted a festive Christmas Luncheon at the Vice-President’s Enclave on Friday, extending warm greetings of Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all attendees. The event highlighted the spirit of love, hope, and charity that Christmas represents.

Radhakrishnan commended the invaluable contributions of the Christian community to nation-building, particularly in education, healthcare, and the upliftment of tribal and underprivileged communities. He encouraged the community to continue their efforts for social development and nation-building.

The Vice-President also emphasized that the spirit of Christmas should extend beyond the season, becoming a part of everyday life. He underscored the importance of environmental protection and promoted the adoption of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) to combat climate change and achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

The luncheon was attended by several dignitaries, including the Governor of West Bengal, C. V. Ananda Bose, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Union Ministers of State George Kurian and Suresh Gopi, as well as Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, Pastors, and senior representatives from various church administrations across India.

Radhakrishnan is scheduled to begin his two-day official visit to Telangana and Madhya Pradesh from Saturday. He will serve as Chief Guest at the valedictory function of the National Conference of Chairpersons of Public Service Commissions at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and later attend the World Meditation Day celebrations at Heartfulness Global Headquarters, Kanha Shanti Vanam, Nandigama.

On Sunday, the Vice-President will travel to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to participate as Chief Guest at the Birth Centenary Celebrations of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, organized by the Atal Foundation. These engagements mark a significant start to his official visits while reinforcing the message of unity, service, and sustainability.
