Vice President C P Radhakrishnan Begins Two-Day Visit to Tamil Nadu

Vice President of India C P Radhakrishnan commenced his two-day official visit to Tamil Nadu on January 2, 2026, arriving in Chennai amid formal protocols, with the itinerary designed to encompass significant educational milestones, literary celebrations, cultural engagements, and interactions aimed at fostering national integration and public discourse.
Upon touchdown at Chennai International Airport, the Vice President was accorded a warm and ceremonial welcome by Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, Union Minister of State L Murugan, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with senior state officials and protocol dignitaries, followed immediately by the presentation of a Guard of Honour reflecting the high stature of the constitutional office.
The densely scheduled program for the first day includes delivering the presidential address at the 34th Convocation of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute University in Chennai, serving as chief guest at the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Sahithya Samman 2025 awards ceremony organized by The New Indian Express Group, attending a large-scale public reception at the historic Kalaivanar Arangam, and participating in an official civic reception hosted by the Governor at Lok Bhavan.
