Varun Gandhi Meets PM Narendra Modi With Family, Praises His Leadership
BJP leader shares post after meeting PM, praises leadership and guidance during interaction with family.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his family, describing the interaction as a “privilege” and praising the Prime Minister as a “true guardian” of the nation. The meeting, which took place in the national capital, was later shared publicly by Gandhi through a post on social media platform X.
In his message, Varun Gandhi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister and seek his guidance. He wrote that the interaction left a strong impression on him, highlighting what he described as Modi’s “paternal affection” and sense of protection. Gandhi added that the meeting reinforced his belief in the Prime Minister’s leadership and commitment to the country.
Varun Gandhi, a prominent member of the BJP, comes from the influential Nehru–Gandhi family. He is the son of senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi and the late Sanjay Gandhi, who was the younger son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Despite the family’s historical association with the Congress party, Varun Gandhi has built his political career within the BJP.

Over the years, Gandhi has emerged as a notable political figure, serving three terms as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Pilibhit constituency in Uttar Pradesh. His political journey within the BJP began in the early 2000s, alongside his mother, following a long-standing estrangement from the Congress and other members of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
Maneka Gandhi formally joined the BJP in 2004 with her son, marking a significant shift in their political alignment. At the time, Varun Gandhi had stated that strengthening the BJP was in the nation’s best interest, underlining his commitment to the party’s ideology and framework. His rise within the organisation continued steadily, culminating in his appointment as a BJP General Secretary in 2012.
The recent meeting with Prime Minister Modi is being viewed as a notable public gesture, underscoring Gandhi’s continued association with the party leadership. While the interaction was described in personal and respectful terms, it also comes at a time when political signals and alignments within major parties often attract wider attention ahead of key electoral developments.
