US Vows Support as India Reels from Pahalgam Attack! PM Modi Signals Swift Justice

JD Vance Calls PM Modi after Pahalgam

In a powerful show of solidarity, US Vice-President J.D. Vance reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, condemning the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and pledging America’s full support in India’s battle against terrorism.

Speaking from Agra during his ongoing visit to India, Vance offered “all assistance” to ensure the perpetrators face justice, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

The MEA noted that Vance, deeply moved by the loss of lives, expressed heartfelt condolences and reaffirmed US solidarity with India. “He conveyed his deepest condolences on the loss of lives and reiterated that the United States stands with the people of India in this difficult hour,” the statement read. Modi thanked both Vance and President Donald Trump for their unwavering support during this crisis.

Vance, who shared his anguish on X the previous day, wrote, “Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. Over the past few days, we have been overcome with the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack.”

The Vice-President’s first-ever visit to India kicked off with a warm meeting with Modi in New Delhi on Monday, followed by high-level bilateral talks.

After exploring Jaipur on Tuesday, Vance arrived in Agra on Wednesday. His two-nation tour, which included Italy, wraps up with his return to Washington on April 24.
