US, Arab Nations Condemn Iran’s Missile And Drone Strikes As “Reckless” Threat To Regional Stability

US and six Arab nations condemn Iran’s missile and drone strikes, calling them reckless and destabilizing for West Asia.

The United States and six Arab nations on Monday strongly condemned a series of missile and drone strikes by Iran across West Asia, calling the attacks “indiscriminate,” “reckless,” and a serious threat to regional stability. The joint statement, issued by the US, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, came in the wake of retaliatory Iranian strikes following US-Israel operations that reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and members of his family.

According to the statement, the Iranian strikes targeted multiple countries in the region, including Bahrain, Iraq — including the Iraqi Kurdistan Region — Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The attacks were described as violations of sovereignty that endangered civilian populations and damaged critical infrastructure. “These unjustified strikes targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilian populations, and damaged civilian infrastructure,” the statement read, adding that Iran’s actions represent a dangerous escalation in the region.

The governments emphasised that the targeting of civilians and nations not involved in hostilities constitutes destabilizing behavior. They reaffirmed their inherent right to self-defence under international law and expressed unity in protecting citizens and territorial integrity. “We stand united in defence of our citizens, sovereignty, and territory,” the statement said.

The signatories also praised coordinated air and missile defense efforts, noting that effective collaboration had prevented a significantly higher loss of life and destruction. This acknowledgment underscores growing security cooperation between the US and its Gulf and regional partners in response to Iran’s advancing missile and drone capabilities.

Analysts say the joint condemnation signals an escalation in diplomatic and security responses to Tehran’s actions, highlighting concerns about regional stability amid ongoing tensions. The statement reinforces a collective stance among these nations to counter threats while protecting civilians and critical infrastructure.

The development marks a critical moment in West Asia, where rising military capabilities and retaliatory cycles risk further destabilization, prompting increased coordination among US and Gulf allies to mitigate potential escalation.
