UP Police Arrest Two Madrasa Teachers for Brutally Assaulting Minor Student

Two Saharanpur madrasa teachers were arrested after a child assault video surfaced on Friday.

Two madrasa teachers were arrested after a video showing the alleged assault of a 10-year-old boy surfaced, prompting police action under multiple legal provisions, including the Juvenile Justice Act. Authorities said the incident, though recorded nearly six months ago, came to light on Friday, triggering swift intervention.

According to police, the accused—identified as Mohammad Junaid and Mohammad Shoaib, both in their 30s—were arrested from their residences on Saturday. The video purportedly shows the child being beaten by the teachers inside the madrasa premises, raising serious concerns over child safety and institutional accountability.

An FIR has been registered against the duo under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including provisions related to voluntarily causing hurt and assault or use of criminal force. In addition, Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, which deals with cruelty to children, has been invoked, along with provisions of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act.
