UP Election Chief Debunks Rahul Gandhi’s Fraud Claims

CEO refutes Congress leader’s duplicate voter allegations.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttar Pradesh has dismissed allegations by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding duplicate voter entries in the state, labeling them “factually incorrect.” In a statement posted on X on Thursday, the CEO’s office clarified that Gandhi’s claims were based on outdated data from March 16, 2025, sourced from the Election Commission’s website.

During a press conference in Delhi earlier that day, Gandhi highlighted two individuals, Aditya Srivastava and Vishal Singh, alleging their names appeared on electoral rolls in multiple locations, including Lucknow and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, as well as constituencies in Mumbai and Bengaluru. He cited these as evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The UP CEO countered that a fresh verification conducted on August 7 through the Election Commission’s portal showed both individuals are registered only in the Mahadevapura constituency of Bangalore Urban. “Their names do not appear in the voter rolls of Lucknow East or Varanasi Cantt constituencies in Uttar Pradesh,” the statement read, refuting Gandhi’s claims.
