Udhayanidhi Tells EPS: Save Faction-Ridden AIADMK, Don’t Attack DMK
Stalin mocks multiple AIADMK factions, warns against BJP tie-up, and rallies DMK cadres for 2026 in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin sharply rebuked AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday, urging him to salvage his "disintegrating" party amid internal rifts rather than criticising the DMK-led alliance. Addressing DMK workers in Chennai, the youth wing secretary highlighted the opposition's latest factionalism, triggered by senior leader K. A. Sengottaiyan's call on September 5 to reunite expelled members, labelling it a "new group" alongside existing factions like EPS (Palaniswami), OPS (O. Panneerselvam), TTV Dhinakaran, Sasikala, and Sellur Raju.
Sarcastically noting that AIADMK members now identify by factions during meetings, Udhayanidhi dismissed Palaniswami's claims that DMK would "swallow" its allies: "He should first resolve the crisis in his party rather than criticise the DMK." He equated AIADMK and BJP as "self-destructive" entities "swallowing each other," contrasting it with DMK's "principled" coalition not formed solely for elections.
Warning of perils if the AIADMK-BJP alliance gains power in 2026, Udhayanidhi cited risks like imposing Hindi via a three-language formula, enforcing the National Education Policy (NEP), redefining constituencies, and undermining Tamil Nadu's financial rights. Rallying cadres for the assembly polls (234 seats), he echoed CM M. K. Stalin's target of 200 wins: "Stand in the forefront as frontline players... ensure Stalin returns as chief minister for a second term."

Emphasising the next six months as "crucial" for fieldwork, Udhayanidhi assured recognition for dedicated workers, urging intensified voter outreach. The exchange intensifies pre-election tensions in Tamil Nadu, spotlighting AIADMK's internal divisions against DMK's unified push for re-election.
