UAE Shoots Down Three Iranian Drones as Middle East War Spreads Beyond Israel
The UAE intercepted Iranian missiles and drones, confirming three were destroyed over the eastern region.
The United Arab Emirates said on Sunday that its air defence systems were actively responding to incoming missile and drone threats launched from Iran, marking another escalation in regional tensions. The defence ministry confirmed that the sounds heard in parts of the country were due to interception operations carried out by its air defence units.
In an official statement, authorities said that multiple aerial threats had been detected and engaged, with defence systems successfully intercepting and neutralising them mid-air. A ministry spokesperson confirmed that at least three drones were destroyed in the country’s eastern region, preventing potential damage or casualties.
The incident comes amid a broader escalation involving Iran and several countries in the region, with increased missile and drone activity raising concerns over regional security. The UAE has heightened its defensive posture in response to the evolving threat environment.
