UAE Defence Ministry Says It’s Intercepting Iranian Missile Barrages
UAE defence ministry says ballistic missiles and drones from Iran are being intercepted amid rising Gulf tensions.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is actively intercepting a new barrage of missile attacks launched by Iran, the country’s Defence Ministry confirmed on Tuesday. The strikes mark a continuation of heightened tensions in the region following a series of military escalations across the Middle East.
In a statement, the Ministry said, “Emirati air defences are currently dealing with a barrage of ballistic missiles coming from Iran.” It added that the country is fully prepared to counter all threats, emphasizing its commitment to protecting its territory and ensuring the safety of citizens and residents.
The missile attacks come amid an escalating conflict involving Iran, the United States, and its regional allies, which has already seen airstrikes, drone attacks, and heightened military alert across Gulf states. The UAE, a key strategic and economic hub in the region, has increased security measures and bolstered its air defence systems in response.

Officials have not yet disclosed the extent of damage or casualties resulting from the attack. However, residents in affected areas reported sirens and air raid alerts, with authorities urging the public to remain indoors and follow emergency safety protocols.
The UAE’s statement underscores the country’s readiness to respond to ongoing regional threats and reflects growing concern over Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and their potential impact on neighboring countries and global trade routes.
Regional and international observers are closely monitoring the situation, as any further escalation could destabilize the Gulf region, potentially impacting energy markets and international maritime traffic.
