Two Days in a Row! Robery Vadra Arrives for Second Day of ED Questioning
Robert Vadra arrived at the ED Office along with his wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
Businessman Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a second consecutive day on Wednesday for questioning in a money laundering case tied to a 2008 land deal in Haryana’s Shikohpur.
Accompanied by his wife, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who shared a supportive hug outside the ED office, Vadra faced continued scrutiny over his firm Skylight Hospitality’s transactions.
The probe centers on a February 2008 deal where Skylight Hospitality, formerly directed by Vadra, purchased 3.5 acres in Manesar-Shikohpur (now Sector 83, Gurugram) from Onkareshwar Properties for Rs 7.5 crore.

In September 2012, the land was sold to DLF for Rs 58 crore, yielding a profit of over Rs 50 crore. The deal sparked controversy when IAS officer Ashok Khemka canceled its mutation in October 2012, citing violations of Haryana’s Consolidation Act. The opposition BJP labeled it a case of “corruption” and “nepotism,” pointing to Vadra’s ties to the Congress-led government under Bhupinder Singh Hooda. A 2018 Haryana Police FIR prompted the ED’s money laundering investigation.
Vadra, 56, was questioned for five hours on Tuesday, with his statement recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Calling the probe a “political vendetta,” he stressed his cooperation, having submitted 23,000 documents across 20 years of investigations. Despite a 2023 Haryana government report finding no violations, the ED persists, citing new evidence.
Vadra’s supporters, chanting slogans against the Modi government, allege misuse of agencies. The probe, one of three against Vadra, continues amidst heightened political tensions.
