TVS Motor Company reported steady growth in April auto sales, with electric vehicles and three-wheelers emerging as the strongest performers. The company said total sales rose 7 percent year-on-year to 4.73 lakh units in April, showing continued momentum despite moderate expansion in the wider two-wheeler market.

The automaker’s domestic and international two-wheeler sales increased 6 percent to 4.55 lakh units during the month. The growth reflects sustained customer demand across commuter motorcycles, scooters and premium bike segments, helping the company maintain strong volumes in a competitive market.

Electric vehicle sales were the standout performer, rising 36 percent year-on-year to 37,771 units. The sharp jump highlights increasing consumer acceptance of electric scooters and motorcycles, driven by fresh launches, improved charging infrastructure and better affordability for buyers.

Three-wheeler sales also posted strong gains, climbing 37 percent to 18,637 units in April. Demand was supported by rising use of last-mile transport solutions in urban and semi-urban areas, where cargo and passenger three-wheelers continue to play a key role.

The April figures indicate that TVS Motor is benefiting from India’s shift toward cleaner mobility and practical transport options. While conventional two-wheelers remain the backbone of sales, the rapid rise in EVs and three-wheelers signals changing customer preferences and new growth opportunities for the company.
