TT Jagannathan Visionary Chairman Emeritus of TTK Prestige Passes Away at 82

TT Jagannathan, the revered Chairman Emeritus of TTK Prestige Ltd, passed away unexpectedly in Bengaluru on October 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that transformed India’s kitchen appliance industry. The company announced his demise in a filing with the stock exchanges, expressing profound sorrow and highlighting the irreparable loss to the organization. Jagannathan, a key figure in the promoter group holding 42,41,868 shares (3.10%), was instrumental in elevating TTK Prestige to a billion-dollar enterprise.
A gold medallist from IIT-Madras and a PhD holder in Operations Research from Cornell University, Jagannathan was a visionary whose innovations redefined household kitchens across India. Known as “The Kitchen Mogul,” he served on the company’s board for over five decades, steering TTK Prestige through challenges and transforming it into a debt-free powerhouse. His groundbreaking introduction of the ‘gasket release system’ revolutionized the pressure cooker industry, making safety and innovation synonymous with the TTK Prestige brand.
Jagannathan, nephew of TT Krishnamachari, the founder of the TTK Group and former Finance Minister of India, chronicled his journey in the book Disrupt and Conquer: How TTK Prestige Became a Billion Dollar Company. His leadership not only strengthened the company’s market position but also inspired generations of entrepreneurs.

The TTK Group has faced another recent loss, with TT Venkatesh of TT Krishnamachari & Co passing away on September 17, 2025. The company’s board, employees, and stakeholders have conveyed their heartfelt condolences to Jagannathan’s family, mourning the departure of a leader whose vision reshaped the industry.
